The year 2024, which ended only a week ago, was the year for me to return to full operation in the travel industry. After 3 year break caused by the unprecedented circumstances of the pandemic I was still confident that we would again be able to organize customized trips and tours at the highest possible level but the season far exceeded my expectations.
Year 2024 was simply a dream! Not only have we had a massive increase in clients and tours compared to pre-Covid times, most of them have been real fun. And we also got some of the nicest and most heartwarming reviews I could have ever dreamed of. When I founded the company in 2016, my intention was to provide guide services in a different way. In a way that is highly friendly, very personal and extremely responsive to the needs, wishes and desires of our guests. We didn’t want to be just guides. We wanted to be friends who would allow travelers to see below the surface and help them understand everything they wanted to know about Czech culture, society, history and way of life here. And reading the sentences and reviews that people have left on our Tripadvisor profile, I feel that we have succeeded. A few examples are below, many more here.

My family and I wanted to get to know the country and culture while having fun, within little over a week, and Honza not only helped design a custom road trip through the whole Bohemian region, but drove alongside us, giving us historic knowledge and the insight of a local. We were able to visit beautiful towns and castles, go hiking, swimming, beer/Beherovska tasting, watch Eurocopa games in local pubs and try out the best restaurants as if our local friend were taking us around their country.
Honza’s communication before and during the trip were truly exceptional.
With excellent English and a wealth of local and worldly knowledge, Honza could easily have done the walking tours himself, but he hired in a team so that he could help with shepherding etc. He insisted on seeing us to and from the hotel door and was an absolute star – I cannot recommend him highly enough, whether you are a small group or large (like ours).
Also very funny was the situation with four wonderful ladies from Sweden and the USA who came to Prague to celebrate their first year of retirement. We exchanged a few emails and I prepared an itinerary for them. But when we finally met, they were quite disappointed that I wasn’t Honza Vihan, the Czech tour guide from their favorite Rick Steves video about Prague. I understood their disillusionment, because they didn’t know that Honza is actually the most widespread name in the Czech Republic, and I promised them that I would do everything to make the tour as great and memorable as if they were with Honza Vihan. And this is what one of them sent me via Whatsapp the evening after the last tour:
Honza, you were fantastic! I thought there couldn’t be anyone better than the guy in the Rick Steves video, but you proved me wrong. Doing these trips with you was an absolutely wonderful experience. You were funny, trustworthy, incredibly knowledgeable and cool! We felt like we were with an old friend. Keep up the good work boy, you’re doing an amazing job!
And you know what? This is heaven to me! This is what I dreamed of when I founded CZEXPERIENCE. No one will remember kings, castles, palaces and dates (though of course I talk about them a lot as an enthusiastic history buff). But what people remember are emotions, memories and experiences. And that’s exactly what I’ve always wanted to provide.
Therefore if you know of someone who is going to the Czech Republic that would be interested in this kind of experience, do not hesitate to send them to us. We will do everything to ensure that they leave Prague happy.
