Prague WWII monuments and Museum of Communism

This tour will take you to the most memorable sites connected with the events of the Second World War and era of communism. Together with your guide you will visit the Church of St. Cyril and Methodius in New Town. The paratroopers involved in Operation Anthropoid went hiding went into hiding after their assassination of Reinhard Heydrich in Prague in 1942 in the crypt under a church. It was also here that the Nazis found them and where they met their heroic deaths. The site is today a very solemn memorial oozing a particularly eerie atmosphere. Other important stop will be the Museum of Communism with its impressive exhibition of the artefacts of this dark period of Czechoslovak´s history and downfall of communism. This private museum is both enlightening and even amusing. Entry fee is 290 CZK. You will also visit the famous Národní třída with memorial of the Velvet revolution and Wenceslas’s square with the building of National Museum where you can still see the holes made by bullets of occupying Red Army from August 1968. This tour is organized with Mr. Michal Musil, well-known Czech journalist and historian specialized on 20th Century who loves to take interested clients on tour and provide in-depth explanation of all the important moments of that era.

Břevnov Monastery with tasting of beer brewed by local monks

Without exaggeration this is one of the unforgettable experience you can get in Prague. Just 10 minutes by car from the Prague Castle there is Břevnovský Monastery founded in year 993 A.D. It is the oldest male monastery in the country that not only is absolutely beautiful but there is also functional brewery the existence of which was documented as early as in the 13th century! Nowdays you can taste the locally brewed lagers and ales that are really good in the monastery stylish restaurant where they also serve delicious food. This place with amazing gardens is the real city´s oasis. Very peaceful and not so touristy as the other Prague´s sites it is very popular among the Czech people during weekends. The guided tour includes visiting baroque basilica of St Margaret, 11th century Romanesque crypt and baroque prelature with Teresian Hall.
